Welcome back fellow fans of Louisiana-based hard rock/nu metal band, Sevvven! Looks like Sevvven wanted us to know that there was still time to release some of the greatest music of 2024, and their latest, crushing, single Don’t Panic (Ted Jensen version) holds its own against the rest of them.

I am not sure if the band is a fan of Coheed and Cambria, but the opening to Don’t Panic captures that dramatic, robotic, countdown to something potentially world-changing, before the song truly kicks into its high-octane fury.

Don’t Panic reminds me of how I once explained Sevvven to others, they are a band that is nothing less than beauty and chaos combined. Where you start in a song is not necessarily where you end up, and if you think the melodic vocals won’t be matched by the harmonious screams, that then rise to an even more visceral punch-to-the-face of sound, then you would be quite wrong. Sevvven are so very creative in their songwriting, blending genres and influences seamlessly to create a unique signature sound that is undeniably their own.

The thing that I love most about Don’t Panic is the journey that the song intentionally takes the listener on. It starts out in a gloriously cinematic way, pulling back for a moment to let the listener settle in before the main riff sends off, and once that does, the song doesn’t hold back at all. It’s beautiful, angry, thoughtful, inspirational, and catchy-as-hell.

I think that if Sevvven can simply focus on making sure the world gets a chance to hear this, that that they will become quite the name on the music scene. Don’t Panic is a win in my books!
